Motorola edge 60 pro launched yesterday with good pricing. After some years of their bad time now they are coming back very strongly with aggressive specification at good prices. Let’s see the new Motorola edge 60 pro which is one of the successful series from Motorola. The phone priced at ₹29,999 for 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model and ₹33,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model. Now let’s get into the specification of the phone.
Design and build quality of the phone:
The phone comes with similar back panel when compared to its successor edge 50 pro. On the back panel we get 4 camera type panel where 3 cameras and 1 flashlight are present. On the right side of the phone, we have an action button inspired from iPhone with similar functionalities. Let’s discuss the AI button later in the post.
The back panel has two options, which is leather finish, and another option is Nylon texture one which looks good. The phone comes in 3 colors purple, blue, and grey they have named those colors differently, but these are the looking colors for us to recognize.
The body of the phone is made up of plastic, but the previous generation phone is of aluminum which was premium. But they have shifted to plastic just to reduce the weight of the phone. The new edge 60 pro has a huge 6000mAh battery so to reduce the weight they have chosen plastic.
The phone has military grade certification which is provided for the rough and tough usage on the phone. It can sustain some minor drops and slips from hands.
On the right side of the phone, we have volume buttons and power button, as I have mentioned before on the left side, we have action button lets discuss about it later. Top of the phone, we have a secondary mic and there is a label of Dolby sound as the phone has Dolby atmos support.
On the button of the phone we have a speaker grill, charging port, sim tray, and primary mic. The speakers are dual stereo speakers with Dolby atmos support and spatial audio support.
The phone weighs 186grams only.
Display of Motorola edge 60 pro:
Edge 60 pro has 6.7-inch Quad curved 1.5k pOLED panel. The meaning of quad curve means on all four sides the display curved. On the side its 45degrees curve and on top and bottom it is 33degrees curve. The display protected with the Corning Gorilla glass 7i.
They have downgraded the refresh rate of the phone to 120Hz when compared to the last generation phone. This is a good move because most of the apps does not have the support of 144Hz. This easily drains the phone battery. So, keeping to 120Hz is a good thing for a phone to last longer battery.
The display has HDR10+ support with 4500 nits peak brightness support. We also have the l1 support where we can watch HD videos in amazon and Netflix. But there is no support of HDR content in Netflix, but they may bring it through the updates.
The phone has in display an optical fingerprint sensor which is fast and has no issues.
Performance of Motorola edge 60 pro:
The phone powered with Media Tek Dimensity 8350 processor which is powerful than the previous generation phone. The specialty of the processor is it has NPU which is a neural processing unit for the AI support which we mentioned earlier.
The processor is good enough to handle any type of games BGMI, COD and others. BGMI can be played in 90FPS but now it is only 60FPS. They need to fix this in updates. Smooth extreme and all high-resolution settings can be set on BGMI and play the game seamlessly. The processor is so good enough moto needs to optimize it.
Software of Motorola edge 60 pro:
Motorola edge 60 pro is running on android 15 out of the box. They have guaranteed 3 years of android updates and 4 years of security updates. Motorola UI is always a clean UI; my first phone was from Motorola. Recently they have updated the UI with app lock, clone apps, locked folder like other phones.
AI of Motorola edge 60 pro:
As we have discussed, the action button which is present on the left side of the phone. Which has some functionalities, long press of the button we have option of Moto AI which is integrated with perplexity AI. On the double press also, we have some functionality which is update me and take notes. Notes are good which enables the voice note taking app which makes easy in your daily task.
There is an app moto AI app which has some productivity apps such as update me, remember something, take notes and search.
We have an image studio which can create text to image, we have some options like abstract, cartoon, fantasy, Sci-fi, impressionist, minimalist, pop art, realistic, surreal and vintage. We can also create stickers with text where we can share in WhatsApp.
Sketching to image is also possible which generates some images from our sketch. We can also create an avatar using our photo from the gallery.
Playlist studio is an option which is integrated with Amazon music to search for the song. We can give our mood and current type, so it searches the songs for that and suggests us. Which is a good option for music lovers like me.
There is another amazing AI feature, if we stuck in a google web page or something we can just double tap the AI button we have the option called perplexity which reads the scree and summarize the content.
Laptop connection:
Motorola has developed a Microsoft laptop app which is called smart connect. We can connect our phone with laptop, we can access mobile apps on laptop we can open multiple apps on the laptop screen for easy multi-tasking.
Battery of Motorola edge 60 pro:
Motorola edge 60 pro has a huge 6000mAh battery which is huge which can easily withstand more than one day easily. And the charging is 90Watt. To get fully charged it takes 53 mins, which is a good time because it lasts longer.
The battery is in first place of DXO gold battery category, where they perform various tests on battery on drain and charging of the phone.
Camera of Motorola edge 60 pro:
The Motorola edge 60 pro comes with 50MP main camera with SONY LYTIA OIS sensor and 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optic zoom, and ultrawide camera is 50MP.
The photos are amazing on the phone with great clarity and details. As we see the portrait images from the phone, we have 3x optical zoom lens, where we can click pictures in 85mm zoom.
My best suggestion is only using the optical zoom lens to click pictures, other than 3x we get non-clear images and details will be missing.
Wide cameras are used as two types, one is ultra-wide photos and macro shots. Both captures are best, and details are at their peaks.
All the rear cameras can record the videos at 4K30 fps,
Front camera:
The front camera comes with 50MP which delivers great images and clarity. We can also record in 4K 30fps using the front camera.
