Recently, we have been listening to the news of website crashes and app crashes. Mostly we
have faced this type of crash with Meta company. Instagram was the app which has crashed
very frequently. Most of the government websites which release any results of an exam get
crashed heavily during the release date. This happens due to the heavy traffic to the website.
Heavy traffic is a common problem that all people know about. But this is not the only reason
why any website gets crashes. They are many reasons where why a website gets crashes.
A website is built with thousands of lines of code, there will be some errors in the code which
will also cause the website to crash. Hackers will also have the part for a website’s crash. A
website gets crashed by heavy traffic to the website in a single minute but it’s just a saying
they are many problems which crash the website they are:
- Code error
- Cyber attack
- Plugin errors
- Service provider error
- Hosting error
- Domain error
- DNS error
- Traffic error
Code error in web crash:
Code error for a website is just poor coding skills for the website. A full-stack developer
needs to build a website without any bugs. However developer writes some 1000’s lines of code to build a single website, and all parts of the code need to work properly for the best website.
High storage of things in any line of the code causes the crash of the website. High storage is nothing but images and under things. If your website needs to be engaged with pics and
videos of high resolution you need to select the hosting with high bandwidth and unlimited
storage. This makes your website work properly at a good speed.
Cyber attacks leads to website crash:
Hacker target websites which is the least protected and non-encrypted websites. These types
of websites are very easy to enter anonymously. Hackers are of two types, one type of
hackers hack your data and sell those things on the dark web other is ransomware.
Ransomware hackers hack your website and change the service providers and demand a
ransom amount to release the hosting details.
The other type of hacker just takes the user’s data from your website which are the name,
phone number, and emails of the user who visit your website regularly. They sell those
details on the dark web for money. There are another type of hacker who just damages your name. Hackers can compromise your website by injecting malicious links. Users who click on these links may unknowingly expose their devices to security threats and potential hacking. Hackers use your website as the door for their hacking.
Plugin errors:
As I have mentioned that a website contains thousands of lines of code to build a website.
Most of the special things which are present in the website are mostly plugins, such as the
login page and other things are plugins. Plugin extensions make your website more artistic.
Plugins are great for a website which makes the website more user-friendly. But at the same
time, you need to update plugins regularly otherwise it creates more problems for your
website. Outdated plugins cause the breakdown of the website.
Some of the plugins come pre-installed with the hosting software, and it is essential to keep these plugins updated as well.
Service provider issues causes website crash:
Service provider issues may also cause a crash of your website. They have some
set of employees and servers, they continuously work on the servers 24/7. There will be technical issues which make creates the malfunction of servers, most of the technical issues are because of the improper equipment of the servers.
Most of the time, the servers experience maintenance breakdowns. Whenever they stop the meta servers, they claim to be in a maintenance break for the servers. But their maintenance creates most of the problems for the website holders.
Hosting error is big issue for website crash:
Due to budget problems, every website holder starts their hosting package with the least amount this creates an improper estimation of the storage and bandwidth which is required for your website. Each time a page is uploaded and a visitor visits your website, cache memory is filled at the hosting service.
While the amount of data that can be transferred between your website and its visitors is referred to as bandwidth. If there is heavy traffic to your website, exceeding the available bandwidth, it can lead to slow loading times or potential crashes. However most of the website holders are wrong in estimating bandwidth usage for your website. This wrong estimation causes the crash of your website when they are more visitors to the pages.
Domain errors:
The domain is the name that represents your website in the Google search engine; it’s also known as the address of your website. The domain is connected to the hosting provider to establish the online presence of your website.
Buyers purchase domains from seller websites like GoDaddy, NameCheap, etc. After purchasing a domain, it is valid for a specific period. Once that period expires, the domain becomes inactive and becomes available for registration again in the market. For an owner of a domain to regain their domain they need to buy it before the expiration date. If the domain expires, visitors will be unable to find your page on the internet.
DNS error:
Domain name service (DNS) domain name has no option to connect directly with the
internet. The internet only takes the IP address as the input, so DNS came into the picture.
DNS converts your domain into IP address format. Issues with the IP address can result in the loss of website data and connection. Thus in the cases of heavy traffic for the websites, they need to specialized experts for DNS management.
When entering DNS records, it is crucial to be conscious because the data entry is done manually, increasing the likelihood of human errors. So be careful while entering the DNS record data.
Traffic error:
Bandwidth is a critical factor to consider when purchasing hosting services, as it determines the limit of visitors the website hosting service can handle. If in case, there are high visitors than the purchased bandwidth this cause the sudden shutdown of the website.
It needs to be higher than expected most of the government websites for the result portals have this type of issue very often. Bandwidth protects your website while visitors visit your website.
