Vivo has launched their camera focused smartphone. The Vivo V50 is a phone which is designed only for the camera. Now there is no pro model in this edition. The phone’s base price is 34,999 with 8GB RAM and 128 GB storage. And the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model is priced at ₹36,999 and the high-end variant is priced at ₹40,999 with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.
Design and build quality of Vivo V50:
The phone’s design is the same of its predecessor with the sleek design and curved edges and circular camera module. But the camera module is a little bit redesigned with some more aspects. The Aura ring light which is present over the camera module makes the phone easy to click low-light photography.
On the right side of the phone, we get a power button and above the power button we have the volume button. On the bottom of the phone, we have a speaker grill and USB type-C post with sim tray and primary mic.
The phone weighs about 189 grams, which is less than their competitors. The thickness of the phone is more less with the sleekest design of the year. The phone is 7.39mm, which is most sleek in the market.
Even the phone is sleek and weighs more less but there is no compromise in the durability of the phone. Vivo V50 has IP69 water and dust resistance. It has advanced shield glass; a custom anti drops protective film and shock absorbing which minimize from accidental drops. This phone has gone over seventy different tests which ensured its durability.
Vivo has launched the V50 series in two color options starry blue and Rose red. The rose red variant has the matte finish and looks more aesthetic. But the Starry blue is glassy finish which is more striking.
Display of Vivo V50:
The phones have the amazing big 6.77-inch AMOLED display with nest level protection for accident drops. The display offers FHD+ resolution with 120Hz refresh rate. The phone has 4500 nit peak brightness. The phone has thin bezels with vibrant, sharp display with max viewing angles. The handset comes with HDR10 support which can stream Netflix in FHD resolution.
The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner which takes less time to unlock the phone.
Performance:
As we know the phone is built as camera centric one, Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC mid-range chipset where we can see in most mobiles. The device offers smooth and lag-free performance om everyday usage. But forget about the gaming performance because the phone is camera centric. The phone no way compared with its rivals for achieving higher scores in both AnTuTu and Geek bench. The Phones AnTuTu score is 821023 which is normal score.
Multi score performance was also normal with 3,119 score is okay when compared to Motorola edge 50 pro. And Single core is 1,154 which is decent when compared with Motorola edge 50 pro.
Vivo was heated up to only 16.8 degrees Celsius while playing BGMI and COD which is less than the other phones in the market.
Software:
The phones come with Android-15 based Fun Touch OS 15 out of the box. While the pre-installed apps were decent without any bloatware apps. There are food changes in the UI which provide the most needed AI features which boost the phone’s performance. Object eraser, circle to search and other most famous AI features are integrated in the phone.
The phone offers 3 years of major updates and 4 years of security updates, which is decent for this type of segment phone.
Battery and charging speed of Vivo V50:
The phones are backed up with the best battery in the market. Vivo V 50 has 6000mAh battery which easily lasts more than a day for general usage of the phone. On continues watch hours of the phone which lasts more than 16 hours which is decent.
Vivo V50 has a 90W support charger which is quite good and charges the phone in just 39 minutes from 20 to 100. The battery backup and charging speed is amazing in this phone when compared to competitors.
Cameras:
Vivo round module camera setup is unchanged when compared with its predecessor. The handset has the support of Zeiss sports dual rear cameras with 50MP OIS primary one and another 50MP 119 degrees ultrawide sensor. Even the front camera is 50MP for selfies and video calling. The cameras are well optimized to deliver amazing images and reduce the noise.
The daylight images of the phone have a dynamic range which delivers accurate colors and bets details. The colors were most accurate when compared with other phones.
And the ultra wide camera delivers images with heavy contrasts and deeper shadows which make them the best visuals. The detail in the ultra-wide is amazing.
Portrait:
The phone does not have dedicated telephoto lens which is a bit disappointing thing in the phone. When captured at 50MM focal length the vivo delivers smooth with best facial details and overexpose images. The accurate skins tones and clothing colors and the natural bokeh is better. Even without telephoto lens the bokeh effect is simply superb.
Selfie:
The phone has 50MP superior front facing camera. The camera delivers the best exposure and facial details, and the background details are amazing. Shadows are effective and maintain with good skin tones and more natural looks.
Low light:
Vivo V50 clicks the better images than its competitors with boosted colors and well-preserved shadows. The details and light were amazing.
Conclusion:
Vivo V50 is the best camera centric phone in the budget of 30K. The gaming was also cool in the phone, but not for gamers who play heavily. But the cameras in this phone are amazing with all 50MP and Zeiss partnership. Images clicked are amazing and natural when compared to other phones.
The phone has most sleek design which makes the phone easy to use and display is amazing with peak brightness and 120Hz refresh rate. The battery of the phone is the biggest pro in the phone 6000mAh battery lasts more than a day easily. Even heavy usage of the phones can sustain an entire day easily.
